Simply but, it is the best browser out there. There are others who know a lot more who can go into detail exactly why, but all I can do is give you a few key reasons:

1) Freedom. Firefox is and always will be completely free. On top of that, the software is open source so anyone can look under the hood and fiddle with it as they please. Even if you don’t have that kind of technical savvy (neither do I), the thought that you would be able to is comforting.

2) Flexibility. On that under-the-hood thing. Firefox is highly customizable. From adding functionality with community-maintained (again, makes you feel like part of a happy neighborhood) extensions to configuring the guts of the main program, you can tweak Firefox to your heart’s desire.

3) Safety. I’m sure you’ve heard how much better Firefox is than Explorer at preventing bad things from happening to surfers. Part of it is certainly market share (why try to exploit bugs in software that only 25% of the population uses?), but most of it is simple lack of bugginess. Again, there are others who can tell you much more about this than I can. There are also extensions that increase your browsing safety.

4) Tabs. Everyone has them now, but it took IE forever to catch up, and it seems they only did because tabs were so great that people were switching to Firefox for them. You should still switch.

If you need any more convincing, just do a quick search for “why firefox” and I’m sure you’ll come up with a billion reasons. In any event, my purpose is not to convince you to use Firefox, but to show you how.
